Brandon and I are officially 204 days out from our wedding day! I still cannot believe I get to marry the love of my life. We have made a lot of progress with the planning of the big day and have officially got all of our vendors BOOKED and layout of the wedding ceremony and reception solidified. Being engaged has been so so special to us and I don’t want it to end, but also am over the moon about getting married! We have also booked our honeymoon and I CANNOT wait. So – if anyone has any ideas of things to do in Phuket, Thailand and the Maldives, please comment below or reach out to me separately because I do not want to miss any of the staple things to do while there.
Starting back from where the last blog post left off, we have gotten SO much done! First, we both got our wedding bands literally the day after my last blog post. Brandon’s is a black band and mine is a double diamond band that goes around my engagement ring. To say I am obsessed would be an understatement. We did try and look for tuxes but came very unprepared and got nothing done. We still need to reschedule this, and we’re supposed to a long time ago.. but we still haven’t! Procrastination at its finest.
We also booked our engagement pictures for the first weekend in May. Knowing that this is coming up has me more excited than I thought I would be, as we initially were not going to do engagement pictures. This is because when Brandon proposed he hired an amazing photographer to capture the special moment for us and they took us to do a little photo shoot after. But, when we booked our wedding photography package, it included this, and I am thankful that it did! Thinking about it.. how many more times will he and I get professional pictures done of just us?! So, I am cherishing all the moments that we get to spend just us and adding more professional pictures can’t hurt anyone, right? (;
With all that being said, I do highly recommend getting engagement pictures because you will never get to experience all these moments again, so might as well do everything you can to cherish all of these sweet moments.
On another note, I FOUND MY WEDDING DRESS!!! The whole weekend was so special as our families were here spending time together. I chose not to invite anyone other than family and it was an amazing moment that we all got to share and I am sure none of us will ever forget. We all got a lil emotional, but that was to be expected! I do not want to say much more about this or I will end up giving the dress style away, but I will say the dress is nothing I would have pictured myself in. STAY TUNED!!!
I touched on the save the dates in the last blog and can now officially say that we have mailed them out to everyone! I think everyone can agree with this, but we did not want to hand write everyone’s address’s or lick every single envelope closed. So, we did spend a little extra money on “B” seals from amazon and blank address stickers for us to create a spreadsheet and print all address’s out on those stickers at home. Thankfully, Brandon is excel savvy, because I am not. He did all of the technical things and I made the envelopes look pretty.. tehe. I would recommend that you follow up with some friends and family to verify that they received these. It took about three weeks for our save the dates to get to Texas from Utah, which really surprised me. We were worried up until today that the save the dates got lost in the mail. Just a little note to all of the brides to be!
Brandon and I have had such a seamless planning process. I believe that this is because we chose an all inclusive venue. So, they book everything for us through their preferred vendors. They also take over all communication so that we are not talking to 10-15 vendors and coordinating everything. This has really been key to keeping our stress levels down. Even if you do not choose an all inclusive venue, I would highly recommend getting a wedding planner. If you choose not to.. you can’t say I didn’t warn you! (;
Anyway, the venue has booked flowers, our officiant, DJ, catering, and so many other odds and ends for us, we just chose what kind of package we wanted. The hardest thing that we had a hard time spending money on were the flowers as we knew that when the wedding ends, the flowers are thrown away, which means thousands of dollars down the drain and a bunch of beautiful flowers thrown in the trash. This is especially relevant for us as we are getting married in Las Vegas where only 1 of our friends lives there. Other than her, no one else that will be in attendance at our wedding lives even relatively close. But, you only get married once so that is how we are justifying it, tehe. We also chose the layout of the wedding ceremony and reception! Even though we are still 200ish days away from the big day, it feels like we have all of the major things booked/paid for and are now just focusing on the details that you may forget about when you begin planning. But trust me, they will rear the head sooner rather than later! Obviously, I am taking advice from strangers here, but it is best to take care of those details sooner rather than later so that you are not stressing during the month / week of your wedding.
Anyway, I hope you all are having a lovely April! Can’t wait to provide more updates and advice SOON!
P.S. I attached a picture of where our reception will be if anyone was curious. I am IN LOVE!

XOXO,
J
