Hi Everyone! It has been a hot minute since I have last posted. Life has been pretty hetctic to say the least and if you told me I was going to be where I am right now in life, at the beginning of the year, I would have laughed in your face.
This year I have moved across the country with my fiance, changed career paths twice and will be starting a new career on the 30th of this month which I am over the moon about. I have also started a business of my own which has always been a goal of mine.
As everyone knows, this year was already going to be a chaotic one with our wedding happening in November, which I am so excited for. On top of that, I saw an opportunity to create as I had a lot of free time here due to the fact that it is extremely hard to make friends as an adult. There is good and bad with everything, but it truly is about what you make out of it. This past year in April/May I had finally decided what my business was going to be, and that is creating my own sleepwear brand. I do not want to disclose all information and details, but I have officially launched two different sets. They are both Iowa Hawkeye themed, as I went to college there and couldn’t think of a better place to start this new business. With that being said, the topics of this blog are not going to be more geared towards my business and the ins and outs of starting a business from scratch. 🙂
As of today, Friday the 13th, the jammies are just finishing up production — this is because I had to bulk order 300 pairs. Once they finish they will be shipped out to me on September 20th. I would assume that it will take about 10 business days to ship to me, which puts us at the 30th. I will then have 10ish days to get them all embroidered and shipped out to all that have ordered. This whole thing is very new to me, so if you are a customer of mine, please know that I am very sorry as I did not anticipate such a long delay on the manufacturing end as I placed the bulk order in July. Moving forward I learned an important lesson and that is to always stay on top of lead times with vendors so that you can accurately provide your valued customers with proper timelines.
Starting up a business is HARD and when you are already working a full time job on top of it, it really pulls you away from your family, which I am still learning how to navigate through. I am excited, as this is only the beginning and there are many more sleepwear lines to be dropped throughout the next year. We already have another one planned for the 11th of October which will have more of a broad market as this set is more girly instead of collegiate themed. This set was also part of a collab with my best friend and her small business, MoSmiles. To say I am proud of us would be an understatement.
So, with all of that being said, I did want to say thank you to all of those that have supported me and rooted me on throughout not only the good days, but the bad. Special shoutout to my fiance for his unwavering support, I would truly not be here without him and our two puppies.
Keep an eye out for a weekly blog post and possibly even some vlog’s coming along too.
P.S. Please take a moment to check out my sleepwear! @jesleeannesleepwear on instagram and the link to my online store is in my bio. Love you all, xoxo
